Alemenesh Abate, in Dessie, Amhara Region, experienced the devastating loss of a hard-earned aspiration. A thriving weaving business, 13 employees, awards... then COVID, conflict, and loss. But Alemenesh's story isn't about defeat; it's about the incredible power of resilience.

"It was essentially a rehab for me," Alemenesh reflects on EDI's Entrepreneurship training through the SEED program, a partnership with the Mastercard foundation. After months of darkness, she found the courage to dust off her looms and start again.
