EDI and UNICEF have partnered through the Biqu Wetat Programme, a program aimed at accelerating youth-led businesses across Afar, Amhara, and Tigray.
The project is anchored in a dual strategy designed to deliver both immediate impact and long-term sustainability.
Immediate Impact: Equipping 150 young entrepreneurs managing three Nutrition Centres of Excellence (COEs) with specialized training and targeted support to strengthen and scale their businesses.
Long-Term Sustainability: Training and certifying 245 local Business Development Services (BDS) Advisors to establish a self-sustaining support ecosystem across 50 woredas.
These local professionals will continue guiding youth-led enterprises from business planning to accessing finance.
This is an inclusive initiative, with 80% of participants being young women and 10% youth with disabilities.
