Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Nov.23, 2024– Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Ethiopia continued its vibrant conference program today at the Science Museum in Addis Ababa. The event featured various panel discussions and experience-sharing sessions, addressing critical issues surrounding inclusiveness and public entrepreneurship. Organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) with the support of UNDP, the conference brought together startups and citizen entrepreneurs to explore innovative solutions and opportunities in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. A prominent session, titled "Building an Inclusive Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Ethiopia," highlighted the importance of creating a more accessible environment for all entrepreneurs, especially women. The panel also featured a special focus on "Spotlight Women Entrepreneurs: Superstars Redefining Entrepreneurship," showcasing the accomplishments of women in the field. Another key discussion, "Innovation for Impact: Bridging Public, Corporate, and Private Sectors through Entrepreneurship," explored the potential for collaboration between different sectors to drive meaningful change and growth. In his closing remarks, Mr. Boru Shana, Deputy CEO of EDI, emphasized the need for collective action with ecosystem actors to build a dynamic environment conducive to both startups and established entrepreneurs, ultimately transforming Ethiopia's entrepreneurship landscape.
