ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia — The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) has partnered with the EuroNordic Funding Alliance (ENFA), a Norway-based not-for-profit association connecting innovators, funders, and ecosystems across Europe, Africa, and beyond. This partnership aims to strengthen Ethiopia’s entrepreneurship ecosystem by unlocking new opportunities for startups, small and medium enterprises, and innovation-driven businesses.
Through this collaboration, both organizations will work together to facilitate access to international funding opportunities, including grants, blended finance, and private investment. They will support Ethiopian startups in scaling to global markets, particularly in Europe, the Nordics, and the Middle East and North Africa region. Additionally, the partnership will provide tailored training, coaching, and capacity-building programs, enable participation in global consortiums, and strengthen cross-sector knowledge exchange.
As part of the partnership, Ethiopian startups and ecosystem actors will access the ENFA's suite of services, including its artificial intelligence-powered grant tools, international networking platforms, proposal development support, and investment matchmaking opportunities. Representatives noted that global collaboration is vital for advancing innovation in Ethiopia, and this initiative directly supports efforts to enable local entrepreneurs by connecting them with strategic resources and networks to compete globally.
The EuroNordic Funding Alliance brings together a diverse network of funding organizations, expert institutions, and innovation partners operating across more than 20 countries. Its model focuses on driving value-chain collaborations and providing blended financing solutions to support sustainable development. This collaboration reinforces EDI’s commitment to building a dynamic and globally connected entrepreneurial ecosystem in Ethiopia.
