Validation Workshop on TVT College Curriculum Held at MoLS

The Ministry of Labor and Skills (MoLS), in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), convened a Validation Workshop to review and finalize curriculum documents developed by concerted efforts of EDI and MoLS. The workshop focused on validating three sets of curriculum packages, Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Civic Responsibility, and Human-Edge Skills curriculums to be embbeded into the national TVT curriculum framework.

Embedding entrepreneurship alongside ethics, civic responsibility, and human-edge skills aims to cultivate well-rounded graduates who combine technical expertise with ethical integrity, emotional intelligence, and adaptability attributes essential for driving Ethiopia’s socioeconomic transformation. In addition, this initiative is part of a broader mission to realize an entrepreneurial TVT sysytem in Ethiopia through the introduction of a more disruptive and broader view of entrepreneurial education - building the next generation of value creators and change makers accross sectors.

This initiative directly supports national job creation goals, strengthens employability pathways, and fosters a culture of responsible and purpose-driven entrepreneurship among Ethiopia’s youth. The key activities carried out under this initiative include: Need Assessment, Gap Analysis, Developing the Competency Framework, Designing the Curriculum, and Training, Learning Materials (TTLM), Expert review and Feedback.

The sessions were presented and discussed in the presence of senior officials and technical experts from MoLS and partner institutions.

Dr. Teshale Berecha, State Minister of Labor and Skills, praised the documents for their quality and alignment with the Ministry’s strategic priorities, emphasizing their importance in advancing a modern, skills-driven education system.

The event marked a significant milestone toward finalizing a comprehensive curriculum package designed to equip TVT graduates with both technical and entrepreneurial competencies, enabling them to succeed and contribute effectively within Ethiopia’s evolving labor market.
