The Ministry of Labor and Skills (MoLS), in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), launched a comprehensive Training of Trainers (ToT) program on Basic Life Skills and Job Search Skills on September 29, 2026, across 25 cities nationwide. This large-scale initiative brings together 2,055 Technical and Vocational Training (TVT) instructors across nine regions and city administrations, including Oromia, Amhara, Addis Ababa, Somali, Sidama, South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, Dire Dawa, and Harari, to build a strong foundation for youth workforce development.
The eight-day intensive training is designed to build participants’ core life skills, strengthen job-readiness competencies, and equip them with practical strategies for navigating the job market. By strengthening TVT instructors to demonstrate and teach appropriate workplace behaviors, professional communication, and job-search techniques, the program aims to ensure that high-quality, standardized training is cascaded directly to youth preparing to enter the workforce across the nation.
The objective of this collaborative initiative, led by the Ministry, is to reach and empower 100,000 youth, preparing them to enter the labor market with the practical skills, workplace competencies, and adaptability needed to pursue employment opportunities. MoLS and EDI continue to advance sustainable youth employment pathways and contribute to Ethiopia’s workforce development and human capital growth.
