What Does a Journey of Transformation and Self-reliance in TVT Look Like? Burayu Polytechnic Shows Us.

Burayu Polytechnic College in the outskirts of Addis Ababa, is transforming itself through education and entrepreneurship. The college made a turning point through the public entrepreneurship training and other supports by the EDI-led SEED program in collaboration with the Mastercard foundation and the support of the municipality. Within two years of being a polytechnic college in its 45 years of history, the college was able to:

Reach 90%+ Graduate employment rate

Launch 10 ventures (poultry to auto cleaning)

Establish 6 micro-enterprises (62 members)

Create 46 jobs

Generate 5 Million Birr

Partner with overseas institutions

Become an invaluable resource for other TVTs
