In Ethiopia, the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well, thanks in large part to the Ethiopian Development Initiative (EDI). Through our various programs and services, we have empowered countless individuals to turn their dreams into reality. Today, we share a few inspiring success stories of entrepreneurs who have flourished with EDI’s support.

Ayele’s Agribusiness: From Local Farmer to Regional Supplier

Ayele Tesfaye, a small-scale farmer from the Oromia region, had always dreamed of expanding his agricultural business. With limited resources and knowledge, he struggled to make significant progress. That changed when he joined EDI’s training program.

Through tailored workshops and hands-on learning, Ayele gained essential business skills, from financial management to marketing strategies. EDI’s Business Development Services (BDS) provided him with continuous support, helping him secure a microloan to invest in better farming equipment and seeds.

Today, Ayele’s agribusiness supplies fresh produce to multiple markets across the region. His success has created jobs for over 50 locals and inspired other farmers to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
