About us
We are an autonomous institution operating under the newly established Ministry of Labor and Skills. Our origins trace back to the merger of two entities: the UNDP-supported Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) founded in February 2013, and the World Bank-financed Women Entrepreneurship Development Project (WEDP) launched in December 2012. Previously under the supervision of the Ministry of Urban Development and Construction,
We champion fresh ideas and challenge the norm.
We believe in the power of feedback and constant improvement.
We embrace change and readily adjust to new challenges
We foster a network of support and shared knowledge.
We champion inclusivity and unlock every entrepreneur's potential.
We celebrate dedication and the positive change businesses can create.
EDI acts like a midwife, helping a new generation of Ethiopian entrepreneurs give birth to awesome businesses. We work to empower you to take your ideas from dream to reality and become a driving force in the country’s small business scene.
